Coach K’s Retirement Gift: A Lindy’s Labs Puppy 🐕🥰
Coach K receives the sweetest retirement gift: a Lindy Lab.
After a 40+ year run as Head Coach of the Duke basketball team that garnered five national titles, 13 Final Fours, 15 ACC tournament championships, and 13 ACC regular season titles, Coach Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski may have retired in the most touching and adorable way.
In a recent News & Observer interview, Coach K shared that upon retirement, after the loss of his 12-year old Lab last summer, he wanted to “get another dog, quickly.”
Well, ask and you shall receive.
Before his final goodbye and parting ways with his beloved fans last Thursday (April 14), his Duke University family presented him with an eight-week-old silver Labrador puppy.
And as one can see in the video below, they were thrilled to meet each other.

But, what does this have to do with Warren County?🤔
The precious pup that we now know has been bestowed with the fitting name of “Coach” came from Lindy’s Labs, a family-owned kennel located right here in Norlina!
Launched in 2014, Lindy’s Labs is a small hobby breeder and the husband and wife team takes pride in “raising quality dilute and dilute factored AKC Labrador Retrievers to find them loving, forever homes.”
“It’s definitely exciting,” Lindy’s Labs owner Lindy Capps stated. “Getting the updates from them that they are all so excited and love having him as a new addition makes it even better and sweeter.”
