FIVE YEARS AGO TODAY: “The Women of Soul City” Discussion Panel
The Women of Soul City featured women who were integral to the development and vision of Soul City.
Five years ago on this day, Warrenist was born in front of an audience that filled the Warren County Memorial Library community room to its capacity.
Organized as a company “introduction,” The Women of Soul City was a program that included a documentary showing of Soul City followed by an all-female discussion panel that featured the influential voices of Jane Ball-Groom, Wilhelmina Kearney, Magnolia Jackson, and Ihsan Abdin, and moderated by Dr. Charmaine McKissick-Melton, the daughter of Soul City founder, Floyd McKissick’s.
