As the country begins commemorating America’s 250th anniversary, Warren County residents are invited to take a journey through the county’s rich past and promising future during America 250: Warren County’s History on Thursday, July 2, from 5 to 6:30 PM at the Jacob Holt House in Warrenton.

The free community event will explore how Warren County’s story over the past 250 years has helped shape the community that exists today while looking ahead to what comes next.

Organized and sponsored by a committee of Warren County residents and community stakeholders, the event represents a collaborative effort among all three of the county’s municipalities— Warrenton, Norlina, and Macon — to celebrate the people, places, and events that have defined the county’s history.

Guests will have the opportunity to view historical artifacts, exhibits, and information highlighting Warren County’s evolution alongside the founding of the United States and the development of the nation’s Constitution.

The event is designed as a floating open house, allowing attendees to stop by at any time between 5 and 6:30 PM. Whether you can stay for the entire event or only a few minutes, organizers encourage the community to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

One of the evening’s highlights will be the debut of two original videos produced by Matthews Creek Productions. The first traces Warren County’s story from its earliest days through the creation of Lake Gaston, while the second connects the county’s history with its vision for the future, illustrating how generations of resilience, innovation, and community continue to shape Warren County today.

The event offers residents a unique opportunity to reflect on the county’s heritage, discover stories that have shaped the community, and be among the first to view the new films celebrating Warren County’s past, present, and future.
