Opportunities open for 18 counties in North Carolina including Warren

Trillium Health Resources has published a request for information (RFI) on their website for school-based therapy services.

These clinicians will offer outpatient therapy for children experiencing mental health issues, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders in each designated school district. They will provide assessments, group and individual therapy, and family supports. Services will be provided to Medicaid members (in NC Medicaid Direct or the Trillium Tailored Plan launching July 1) in Trillium.

Interested agencies will have until June 30, 2024 to respond to the RFI. Agencies must be available to offer services in at least one of the following counties: Guilford, Randolph, Montgomery, Moore, Lee, Hoke, Richmond, Anson, Scotland, Robeson, Sampson, Duplin, Wayne, Lenoir, Greene, Wilson, Edgecombe, and Warren. Providers may apply to provide services in one or more of the counties listed above, but no other counties than those listed are covered with this RFI.

“Trillium recognizes the value of placing clinicians in schools—their proximity to the children allows for more immediate treatment and contact with teachers and families,” stated Joy Futrell, Trillium’s Chief Executive Officer. “Trillium has been listening to stakeholders in our new counties and understands the needs of the schools in our region to support this critical gap.”

School-based mental health services range from assistance provided by a school counselor to a comprehensive, integrated program of prevention, identification, and treatment on campus. Trillium’s focus with this RFI is to build a strong infrastructure to develop a more comprehensive approach within school settings.

Trillium welcomes participation in this important conversation to keep our communities and schools safe. Any organization interested in learning more can reach out to Trillium by calling 1-866-998-2597.

In February 1, 2024, Trillium Health Resources, Eastpointe, and Sandhills Center merged to provide managed care services for serious behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injury. There will be a total of 46 counties in the combined region, with a total population of 3,094,863.

Triangle North Healthcare Foundation has announced the launch of its 2022 grant cycle, and is accepting Letters of Interest now through March 1, 2022.

The Foundation seeks programs and projects that will provide positive impact in one or more of the five focus areas:

    Child Well-Being
    Chronic Disease
Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders
    Nutrition and Physical Activity
    Reproductive Health

Nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and schools are eligible to apply.

The Foundation’s mission– to encourage, support, and invest in quality efforts that measurably improve health in the Triangle North area– is achieved through funding programming that focuses on improving health. The Foundation also supports programs that build capacity and develop leaders for nonprofits in the region.

Since beginning its grantmaking in 2013, the Foundation has invested over $3.3 million in programs that serve the four counties in the region: Franklin, Granville, Vance, and Warren.

According to the Foundation’s Executive Director Val Short, the Foundation Board’s hope is that through grantee organizations and the people they serve, the Board’s vision for the future of our region will be realized… “to live in a healthy community.”

“Our hope is that the Foundation’s investment of grant funds in our communities will result in long lasting improvements in the health and wellbeing of our children and adults,” Short said.

Short and the Foundation’s Grants Coordinator Carolyn Powell are currently available to discuss ideas for grant projects or to assist with grant writing.

Call 252-430-8532 to schedule an appointment. Information about current and past funded programs and projects is also available on the website.

A regional healthcare grant making organization based in Henderson, NC, Triangle North Healthcare Foundation was established in 2011, following the merge of Maria Parham Medical Center and Duke Lifepoint.
