Warren County Schools: Key Leadership Positions Filled
The Warren County Board of Education recently approved several leadership hires including WCHS principal and Chief Operating Officer.
The Warren County Board of Education recently approved several leadership hires:
- Chief Academic Officer: Kisha Clemons (approved on 8/8/23)
- Chief Operations Officer: Dr. Dennis Carrington (approved on 8/8/23)
- Director of School Performance: LaTonya McNeill (approved on 7/25/23)
- Warren County High School Principal: Dr. Cynthia Simons (approved on 8/8/23)
Dr. Simons will be continuing the work started by WCHS Interim Principal Elaine Hanzer. As a retired school administrator, Ms. Hanzer has worked the maximum amount allowed by the state while receiving retirement benefits. Her last day will be August 31.

Director of School Performance: LaTonya McNeill
LaTonya McNeill has worked in education for 28 years, having served as a teacher, school administrator, Instructional Coach, Curriculum Coordinator, and District Instructional Leader. She’s worked for the NC Department of Public Instruction, SC Department of Education, Richland School District One in SC, Hoke County Schools, and Cumberland County Schools. Ms. McNeill started her new role on August 1.
