Rhasheed Wheeler Inc. Announces Scholarship Opportunity, Shining Star Recipients, + Photos from Community Day Kickball Tournament

In memory of Rhasheed Wheeler, his mother, Shantae Williams is currently accepting applicants for the Rhasheed Wheeler Inc annual scholarship. Details provided below.

The Rhasheed Wheeler Scholarship is a minority scholarship for African American males. It was founded in the year of 2020 in memory of Rhasheed Ricardo Wheeler, a high school student at Warren County High School. The purpose of The Rhasheed Wheeler Scholarship is to promote growth, and economic development.

Rhasheed gained his wings to heaven on May 26, 2020 in an ATV accident. Rhasheed finished his high school senior year on December 13, 2019 and was due for his graduation ceremony on May 30, 2020. He was an ambitious young man that enjoyed playing basketball, spending time with friends and family, and was interested in starting his own business. Rhasheed had a heart of gold and a smile that could captures anyone’s attention.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Must be an African American male
* Must be a student at Warren County High School or Warren New Tech School
* Must be attending a 2- or 4-year college or trade school for a Business degree (Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing or Finance)

AWARD
* minimum $500 and can be used for tuition, books, computers, or any of the student’s college needs

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Student will be required to write a 500-word essay on the following topic: “What does being an African American male mean to me, and how can I contribute to making a positive change in society?”

Submit your essay and unofficial transcript by 12AM on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 via email to rhasheedscholarship@gmail.com. Upon receipt, the applicant will receive a confirmation email followed by an ID number associated with your essay entry.

The Rhasheed Wheeler Inc recently announced this year’s Shining Star recipients, which will receive a free photo shoot provided by local photographer, RocQuan Perry.

TORIANO MCRAE, JR.

Coach TJ is a teacher and coach for Warren County High School and he is respected by many. He spends a lot of time with his students in school and out of school and a positive influence amongst them. We see all you do Coach TJ and we appreciate you!

CRYSTAL BOYD

Crystal Boyd is a counselor for Warren New Tech High School and loved by all her students including Warren County High School students. Ma “Mrs Boyd got me” was a regular conversation among me and Rhasheed lol….thank you Mrs Boyd for having him! We see all you do and we appreciate you.
