Panelists will address the purpose of education in the 21st century, discuss the importance of including expansive and inclusive histories in school curricula, offer an update on the Leandro Case funding, and address the potentials of education from a parent\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MODERATOR:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Doris Terry Williams<\/strong> \u2013 Rural Education Leader, and Principal Consultant for the Rural School and Community Trust<\/p>\n<p><strong>PANELISTS:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Sarah Montgomery<\/strong> \u2013 Senior Policy Analyst, North Carolina Justice Center<br \/>\n<strong>Carla Norwood<\/strong> \u2013 Warren County parent, and Executive Director of Working Landscapes<br \/>\n<strong>Rodney D. Pierce<\/strong> \u2013 Educator, historian, and writer based in eastern North Carolina<br \/>\n<strong>Jennifer Sims<\/strong> \u2013 Chairwoman, Warren County School Board<\/p>\n<p><strong>The \u201cHistories and Futures of Public Education\u201d discussion takes place on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11am at the Warren County Memorial Library (119 S.
