Taking a fresh approach by casting both male and female local talent, the play highlights portions of two days in the lives of four desperate real estate agents who are prepared to engage in any number of unethical, illegal acts\u2014from lies and flattery to bribery, threats, intimidation and burglary\u2014to sell real estate to unwitting prospective buyers, or face being fired.<\/p>\n
\u201cGlengarry Glen Ross\u201d was written by David Mamet in 1982-1983, and it won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as the New York Drama Critics\u2019 Circle Award for Best Play in 1984. It has had three successful runs on Broadway, initially in 1984, then in 2005 and again in 2012. The 1992 feature film of the play starred Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, and Alan Arkin. Alec Baldwin makes a memorable cameo.<\/p>\n
David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross” contains an extraordinary amount of profanity used by these characters. It could definitely be rated “R for explicit language.\u201d Please be forewarned! This show is not suitable for children, or anyone squeamish about \u201cbad\u201d language.<\/p>\n
