Liam Purcell and Cane Mill Road and Twisted Pine

House Concerts at Five Forks Farm is hoping you’ll join us on Sunday September 22nd for two amazing talented bands. Opening with be the Boston based genre bending Twisted Pine followed by “The Future of Bluegrass”, Carolina’s own Liam Purcell and Cane Mill Road. Each band will do two appriximately 45 minute sets starting at 2:00 PM and going untill about 6:00pm giving those headed back home for school or work on Monday, plenty of time to get home by dark. We welcome everyone and feel the world is a better place with diversity and music.
Gates will open at 1:00 pm for those wanting to stroll around the farm and get to know the goats and chickens or even your fellow music lovers if that’s your thing. Bring your own chairs and/or blanket and a cooler filled with yout favorite beverages and snacks. Wood Fired Pizza will be available from Pineda’s Wod Fired Pizza diring the show and breaks. We love the Hot Honey Pepperoni but its all amazing.
Tickets for this double billed show are $40 plus taxes and fees and must be purchased through Eventbrite (even at the door) in order to facilitate payment of sales taxes. Children under 16 years old are free with an accompanying paying adult.

About Twisted Pine

Chris Sartori’s upright bass anchors everything with an undeniable, articulate groove. Dan Bui’s mandolin is thick, crisp, and propulsive. Glengarry Glen Ross

A group of competitive real estate salesmen vie for leads in order to sell undesirable resort property to unwitting customers.

Taking a fresh approach by casting both male and female local talent, the play highlights portions of two days in the lives of four desperate real estate agents who are prepared to engage in any number of unethical, illegal acts—from lies and flattery to bribery, threats, intimidation and burglary—to sell real estate to unwitting prospective buyers, or face being fired.

“Glengarry Glen Ross” was written by David Mamet in 1982-1983, and it won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play in 1984. It has had three successful runs on Broadway, initially in 1984, then in 2005 and again in 2012. The 1992 feature film of the play starred Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, and Alan Arkin. Alec Baldwin makes a memorable cameo.

David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross” contains an extraordinary amount of profanity used by these characters. It could definitely be rated “R for explicit language.” Please be forewarned! This show is not suitable for children, or anyone squeamish about “bad” language.

Chris Jones & the Night Drivers make some of the most distinctively elegant yet driving bluegrass music heard anywhere today. Deeply rooted in tradition but never bound to it, they deliver original music with tight arrangements, emotional authenticity, and engaging humor. As actor and banjo player Steve Martin says, “Chris Jones’ voice is there with the great masters,” adding that the Night Drivers are “some of the best players in bluegrass.”

Collectively, Chris Jones & the Night Drivers have won 18 IBMA awards and have racked up 21 #1 songs. The band’s latest release, their first all-original album, Make Each Second Last, has received rave reviews and has so far yielded an unprecedented eight consecutive #1 songs, including the title track “We Needed This Ride.” Their song, “Riding the Chief,” co-written by Chris and Thomm Jutz, was nominated for 2022 IBMA Song of the Year. They have topped both the Bluegrass Today and Roots Music Review airplay charts with the latest album.
