Ways to Help Your Child Succeed in School With or Without an IEP

Parents, grandparents, and caretakers are invited to join the Parent Empowerment session to gain tools to help your child succeed!

About this event

Participants will be able to:

Understand the importance of high expectations and setting them.
Learn how to ask questions about your child’s school performance.
Explore active school involvement (attend parent conferences, volunteer).
Identify and know the roles of the school community (teachers, administration, services).
Understand parents’ rights.
Model good teacher’s behavior (read with the child, help with the homework, encourage child, praise the child’s work, listen to the child, talk to the child), and advocate positively and constructively in school matters.
